What to make of this book. Much has been written about it, the need for it, and the deployment of it. I cannot add but my own experience with it.
I spent the entire book asking why does it exist? I asked, who is this for? What is to be gained by reading this?

I do not agree with the fiasco surrounding how this book was discovered and the such. I do not see this book as a prequel, sequel or whatever to TKMB. It has been over 15 years since I read TKMB and can't remember much. I went into this book as a stand alone novel. It should not be a companion to TKMB. The first half was a bit slow but the second half I thought was good. It's not perfect by any means but I think it's message and thoughts of "scout" still rings true today some 55 years later. It
