I realize this is not news to anyone in the book world but TANA FRENCH CAN WRITE. Whoa. This was a very good mystery with characters that felt so real. I enjoyed the audiobook (narrated by Steven Crossley) immensely, and I'd recommend reading it in that format.
There are actually two central mysteries to this book: The first is the 1980s disappearance of Adam Ryan's two childhood best friends in the wood surrounding their Irish town. At the time, Adam was found clutching a tree and wearing blood- ...more

I really thought I'd love this book. It's been recommended to me by a bunch of people whose suggestions usually end up being my favorites. Alas, 'twas not to be. I barely dragged myself through the first 200 pages, then rushed towards the end. Half because I just wanted to know what happened already and half because I just wanted to be done with it.
