A timeless classic for a reason. I've seen so many different adaptations of this story that it was fun to finally dive into the source material. Sometimes I have difficulty connecting with the language used in older books and at times I found my attention waning during passages where Dickens's writing got overly flowery. What a beautiful, timeless Christmas story! I love that this is a ghost story, so it's a mixture of horror and hope. The end gets me every time. I always feel like laughing with Scrooge as he is jumping for joy and making amends. ...more

I get something new out of A Christmas Carol every time I read it. I recommend the audiobook read by Tim Curry and the condensed audiobook read/acted by Timothy Ackroyd.
