The Lady Anna
This book was exquisite at times, profound yet profoundly boring at others, and still others what I'll eloquently call "crazypants." Sometimes this was all on the same page. It is more riveting than not, though laughably outdated at times. Oscar Wilde is just the best though.


p.17 All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.
