Oh that Lord Henry is a witty one.
I've wanted to read this book for quite a while, having long been familiar with the general concept involved. The bones of a great story are here, and it's fascinating to see what Dorian is willing to sacrifice for his vanity as well as the deep depths that he sinks to. However, a good third of the novel could have been excised to create a more streamlined end product; the middle portion in particular sags quite a bit by featuring lengthy, ponderous conversations between characters to wade throu
