For me, this book was uneven. Some aspects of the book were fascinating, and I generally enjoyed the writing. However, there were large sections of the book that dragged and made this book a tough read.

Ok, so I wanted to leave Victor at a bus stop in Idaho, but I did enjoy this better than most of the classics I have tackled. I am usually not a big epistolary novel fan (THANKS, 1800’s), and that remains true here. However, the prose was surprisingly solid.
