5 Swoon worthy stars

Cormac O'Connell, if there ever was a man who put life, death, self before the love of his life and wife, it's this man.

Aftermath is a continuation of Hurricane so if you haven't read this I suggest you read that first, I loved Hurricane and highly recommend it.

Alpha male, hotness, possessiveness and a fighter to the core, if you like your heroes this way this story is for you.

This is the continuation of O'Connell and Emily's story from The Hurricane. I loved the first book so I was excited to get more from this couple. It was also told in O'Connell's POV so I was excited to get into the head of this tough but sweet character.

Emily was kind, compassionate and shy but without appearing like a doormat. There were characters that were too good and gentle that they became boring, but not Emily. Gentle didn't mean weak though. On the contrary, she was such a strong heroine

This is the continuation of O'Connell and Emily's story from The Hurricane. I loved the first book so I was excited to get more from this couple. It was also told in O'Connell's POV so I was excited to get into the head of this tough but sweet character.

Emily was kind, compassionate and shy but without appearing like a doormat. There were characters that were too good and gentle that they became boring, but not Emily. Gentle didn't mean weak though. On the contrary, she was such a strong heroine determined not to let fear overtake her life. Con might be a fighter in the ring, but she was a fighter of life.

A character's growth is important especially in a follow-up book, but I loved that Con remained the same as far as his devotion and love for Emily was concerned. He was still swoonworthy and since the first book, I never stopped wishing for someone like him to drop on my lap.

Con surrounded himself with loyal friends who treated him and Emily as family. There was no limit to what they would do for each other and their concern and unwavering support for each other was touching. It was sweet how these big and brash group of tattooed fighters became Emily's family. They may be secondary characters but their contribution in making the story even more interesting and fun was definitely significant.

There was more drama in this book compared to the last one, but Emily and Con once again proved that they had each other's back and will rely on their love for each other to help them get through anything that came their way.

This couple gave me hope that true love, complete devotion and absolute trust can truly make a difference. You may not have a lot in life and challenges may fire at you from all angles, but as long as you have someone who has absolute faith in you, you will be surprised at how much strength you have within you.

Emily and Con were characters that you will truly love and admire and their group of friends were amazing additions that made this book such a great read.

Solid read. Awesome follow up to The Hurricane. Good story and development of characters. Loved that it was told from his POV. I really got a sense of the love between the characters and the sense of family they shared. I liked seeing Cormac grow and evolve to this strong level-headed human being. I have to say, this one will definitely will tap into your emotions for sure. Highly recommend you give this read a try, it is sure to take you on a suspenseful emotional ride.

Loved this book! Usually I feel like most duologies are stretched out for no reason but this one did not seem like it. Maybe it was because I was so invested in this i guess. Loved the charecter arcs of Emily and O'Connel. And the side characters from this series are my favourites! Although I wanted them to have some wee ones in this book but I'm still happy with the way this book turned out. ...more

The Aftermath is a whirlwind read a perfect conclusion from what RJ gave us in the first book. I ate it up and absolutely loved it! Cant wait to read more from RJ. Prescott
