Shelves: book-club, 2016, memior
This was nice and easy to read, but not particularly exciting. It falls into the category of "famous persons life is interesting because they're famous." Overall I felt like he is telling us the story he wants us to hear, he's extremely guarded, we;re not let into his confidence. He is driven and focused and has been successful because of it. I'm not much of a celebrity chef follower, and I probably wouldn't have read this book had it not been the featured title in one of our Supper & Stories events. That said, I enjoyed Samuelsson's story, particularly his passion for connecting food, family, and community. And a visit to his Brooklyn restaurant, Red Rooster, is now on my to-do list. ...more
