Shelves: nature, memoir
Wild left a positive impression on me.
I don't like the things Strayed did before her hike began, but that's part of her story; she was hurt, astray, and self destructing. I think she's courageous to write so openly and honestly about painful experiences/areas of her life, as well as her mistakes, and delivers a powerful, uplifting message that counters the negative content in those parts.

A raw memoir of one woman’s journey on the Pacific Crest Trail. Fantastic writing and real emotion make this a good read for anyone who ever considered leaving their past to embrace a new trail.

The first few chapters were emotionally tough to read but once Cheryl gets on her way I was riveted, I laughed, mourned and struggled with her on her adventure. Really enjoyed it.
