Update May 2017: After a re-read I don't think I liked this book as much. A lot of the plot is romance based, otherwise nothing really happens for about 80% of the book. I'm lowering my rating to 3 stars-- I still "liked it" and in the end I am a sucker for fairy tale re-tellings. Comments relating to the 2nd book: (view spoiler)

Best book I've read all year!
I read another user's description of this book that said ACOTAR is like three novels in one. That is an accurate statement; each third felt as if there was a different focus and progressive stages of character development. I loved every word.
This book made me cry, both from happiness and sadness. The prose, the characters, and the setting were all so expertly written and described that it played out just like a movie.

I was really excited for this book and this was one of my most anticipating releases of 2015 first because it's written by Sarah J. Maas and also because it is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I love retellings. Believe me, I wasn't disappointed when I finished this book. The plot, the characters and the writing style were amazing just like the author got us used to. Feyre was a pretty good main character but that girl is stubborn as hell. If someone tells you not to do something please don'

What a ride. This was the first book I ever DNF'd but still considered it as Read and even gave it a ONE STAR! WILD! To this day, I remember that reading experience. I was frustrated. I was bored. Past me couldn't recognize a reading slump for what it was so this book took all that blame. Plus, I wasn't that big into Fantasy of Fantasy Romance so I really didn't know what to do with some of this things I was reading here. Fast forward five years and a couple of SJM series later, one in particula

I KNEW the answer to the riddle was what it was! (I'm not spoiling it). I did like the book but not as much as I though I would. I'm curious as to what Rhysand was shocked about, but I assume that has something to do with the sequel's plot. Still, there was something that irked me about how it was written/the protagonist actions and voice, maybe I'll have to read throne of glass to properly decipher what it was
