I still really loved this the second time round but I lowered my rating slightly just because I felt the start was a bit slow up until Mark appeared!

First Read: 13th - 15th June 2016, 4.5

What can I even say about this book? Although I didn't give it 5 stars, it's definitely one of my favourite reads of the year. This book is the reason that I spent the last few months reading 10 Cassandra Clare novels and I'm so glad that I did.

Another incredible novel from the Shadowhunter world ! It was incredible to submerge myself in the world again, any worries I had about not connecting to new characters pretty much disappeared within the first two pages.
I think a part of me is still amazed that the book is out and I've already read it. I pretty much squealed whenever any of the familiar characters were mentioned. Although the book was incredibly long (especially for a first book, which I have to admit is slightly worrying since

First off I want to say how sick of forbidden love I am. Just once in a Cassandra Clare book I want there to be a simple relationship between two people. Not three, not seven. Just two. And I don't want there to be any awkward sibling issues, downworlder issues, or Parabatai issues. No lying or breaking of hearts to save them. Thank you in advance.

Honestly, anyone who rips on Cassandra Clare for writing several more shadowhunter trilogies/series would probably jump for joy if J.K rowling decided to do a whole new set of books set in the world of Harry Potter. Cassie can write what she wants and she has a world that is very intricate. If I had written this series, I'd love to have a deal for other trilogies where I could introduce new characters and situations :) ...more
