Am giving a half stars less because I had already seen the movie and it took away some fun of the novel, but I still enjoyed reading it a lot. It was like reliving the movie, and being a part of it.
I was surprised to see the writing and creativity as the book was written in 1997, and Rowling has incorporated so many characters and built such a big and wonderful idea of a world, in this book.
Loved it. Hopping onto the next part soon.

Was soll man zu Harry Potter groß sagen? Es war mal wieder richtig toll. Besonders, dass einige Nebencharaktere im Vergleich zum Film hier viel präsenter waren (Neville, Pavarti, etc.) gefiel mir unglaublich gut. Mit Harry selbst werde ich wohl nie so richtig warm werden, aber das ist völlig egal. Hermione und Ron reißen es sowieso raus. Außerdem wird Professor McGonagall sio langsam zu meinem Lieblingscharakter, man muss sie einfach lieben.

I'm so happy to be able to say that I finally jumped onto the Harry Potter bandwagon. I have heard & seen nothing but good things surrounding this magical series. I've caught glimpses of the films over the years, heard friends & even parents of friends rave about this series, & I must say that after having finished the first book, it lives up to all of the hype. I know, I know...when I started to read Harry Potter I began on book 4 and till now never had picked up the first three books.
I really enjoyed, I mean it's Harry Potter so...liked to see how some things are diferent from the movie. I thought it was fast paced and a light read compared to the later books. Can't wait to pick up the 2nd and 3rd and re-read the last three.

Amazing! I can't believe it took me this long to pick this series. I wish I could marathon this but, COLLEGE. Anyway, I'll try to read the six remaining before this year's end. JK Rowling's writing is incredible, I definitely wish I could spend more time in her world...
