This was another re-read. I always love to read this book whenever I can it's a book that never gets old!!! Love coming back to Harry and Hogwarts. Don't think there is a better wizarding book series out there at least not for me!!!! ...more

I think this will always be one of my favourite HP books/favourite first book in a series. There's something so innocent in it and I love that it's an introduction into my favourite series of all time.

I read this six years ago, but suddenly I got an urge to re-read the whole series again. I forgot how good a book this is!

My Thoughts:
Obviously this isn’t my first time reading Harry Potter but I love this series and at the end of last year I made myself a promise that I would re-read the Harry Potter series this year. I think these books have a lot to offer no matter how many times you read them and I can’t wait to dive into the whole world all over again.

Obviously this isn’t my first time reading Harry Potter but I love this series and at the end of last year I made myself a promise that I would re-read the Harry Potter series this year. I think these books have a lot to offer no matter how many times you read them and I can’t wait to dive into the whole world all over again.

The characters of this series are obviously amazing. I feel like if you are reading this series for the first time it might be one too many characters to keep track of but for me it was like returning to people I have known for a long time, through 7 books and 8 movies. I really enjoyed reading about how Harry grew up and how he was willing to be part of the wizarding world even though he knew nothing about this whole other world. He was able to dive into something new and magical with limited fears and that makes him a great role model for everyone out there who is sometimes too scared to dive into new ideas or projects. I also love Ron and his family and how simple they can be but how loving his family is. Of course Hermione is on the edges of this story considering the guys do not get along with her at first but I love her. She is similar to myself in her ways and I know that made me not liked by guys growing up but she grows with the series so I can’t wait to read more of these three and how they grow and change in the series.

The plot line is not like anything you will ever get in any other series. Rowling makes such a great world that there is no doubt that you can visualize the entire thing and all of the spell and castle walls that hold everything together are so real. Rowling has a way with a story that I have never seen by any other author. The world Harry lives in can never be fully recreated by any author. This book is special, this world is the ultimate in world building and it will only get better with more time.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I did get a little bored with it from time to time though because I have read it so many times and watched the movie a lot I knew a lot of the lines before they were even said in the book. I can’t wait to get deeper into the story though because I know the story becomes bigger and more complex with each book.

Little did I suspect when I walked into Borders I would leave with a book that would change my life. This was not even the book I was going to purchase, but on my way out I saw a display stand, and the cover caught my eye: A boy on a broom chasing after a golden ball with wings.
