More of a 3.5.

Ahh! This book was so good, I loved it so much!! Fantasy lovers have to read this, this series is underrated. I need the next book now!
This was so much better than the Throne of Glass series. Stay tuned for reviews on my blog and channel :) This is totally one of my favorite books of 2015 so far.

After all the hype i had heard about this book, i was really expecting so much more. The story is simple enough, so it wasn't confusing, and was actually a pretty good start to a fantasy series, i just couldn't really get into it.

The insta-love between Cleo and Theon just didn't work for me, they had the potential to be cute, but that sadly didn't occur. (view spoiler)

We get at least one character from each kingdom, and everyone of them has to deal with tensions between politics and morals. Magnus is the Prince of Limeros who has learned in his life to never disobey his bloodthirsty king father's wishes, but he has to constantly show no emotion or reaction ...more

Loved this book. Although mad about a few things that took place. Hoping it helps the story in the next one.
