On the whole, the most positive thing that we can say about this book is that it promoted a very lively Book Group discussion! Though a prolific, and very highly acclaimed, author and 2013 winner of the Women's Prize for Fiction with this title, we just didn't like it. We couldn't relate to the characters or the setting, and found the majority of the events unbelievable.
