I was excited for about two chapters, then the inevitable realization that this was just a lesser re-telling of The Thief got in my way. I think I would have really enjoyed it had I not been comparing it to Whalen Turner's series, which is one of my very favorite.

I bought this book when it was the kindle daily deal but didn't get around to reading it because I had a large stack of books from the library on my shelf so they got priority.
I can't believe I waited so long to read this book. It was a little gem that I had sitting right in front of me and didn't know it! But, it really rescued me, right at a time I was in a reading slump.
