What Members Thought
I would love to believe that prison is like the one described in this story where the inmates are kind and friendly and share good times with each other. Where the warden personally finds you the perfect place to live after you're released. Unfortunately, I think it's more like the series Orange is the New Black. But one can hope. I did love this book and the characters very much. It's a very sweet story.

As her parole date approaches, the local DA gets it into his head that Perry's unconventional upbringing should mean parole denial. 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this unique story. I felt like it was a bit long for the target audience and a few uses of the word "damn" seemed unnecessary for a kids book.

Realistic fiction, measured pace with a strong setting and engaging character development. There is an element of mystery surrounding Perry's mother that keeps the plot moving. Nice narrative on the audio
