I'm coming to realize books like this probably shouldn't be read via audiobook. I could tell I'd enjoy this much more if I read it, you know, with my eyes. Lots of the book comes down to catching the literary references and plays on words and audiobooks are not quite so conducive to such close reading.

Susan Duerden was absolutely amazing as the narrator so it was far from her problem, more my own. I have the physical books, so I'll have to give it another go some day.

I worked my way through this book slowly. It sat by my beside - mostly on the floor, along with other texts 'in-the-process-of-being-read'.

It was ridiculous story, but one I couldn't stop reading. I'd go through 4 or 5 pages of 'large print', then put it down thinking - oh, I gotta' take that back to the library; that's too ridiculous.

But I couldn't turn my back on it. Especially once the story progressed to Thursday actually being with Jane Eyre's characters. And I had to see the good guys tak ...more

The author certainly has quite the imagination. A bit to long (and some of the jokes were driven into the ground) but pretty entertaining and the audio reader Susan Duerden was very good.
