Best. Miles. Yet.
I screwed up my sleep patterns for this book, and it was worth it. Just saying.
I thought the last entry did some great character changes, with Miles injury and Mark's metamorphis. But here, Miles is in full-on identity crisis, and we also get to see Gregor making some life changes as well. I loved that, because Gregor is such a big part of their lives, but is not seen as much. I've been reading the Miles portion of the Vorkosigan Saga and giving the books 3 stars for average. In my rating system, a 3 star book is neither wonderful nor awful. I like it, but it's just ok. 2 stars is not ok, in spite of what the little box says that pops up with your hover the cursor over 2 stars. But that's just my system. 1 star is I hated it, and 5 stars is I LOVED it! So I have to give this one four stars because I really liked it. I've kept asking myself why I kept reading when I wa

A little slow to start but it picks up
Miles returns home after a mission gone wrong. Unfortunally he fails to reveal the real reason why the mission goes wrong. Illyan discovers the real reason and Miles is released from Imp Sec and he can't return to the Dendarii. An incident occurs at Imp Sec and Miles wrangles his way back in.
The books started a bit slow, actually it was positively glacial. Eventually it did pick up. My guess is that was the idea, Miles without direction is just not good for ...more
