At age thirteen, artistic twins Noah and Jude fall for the same boy and their previous close, almost telepathic, relationship evaporates. At sixteen, wounded by the death of their mother two years prior, they barely speak. Each has secrets and knows a piece of the puzzle that can save the other, if they can find a way back to the other.

Major disappointment. After all the praise and accolades, I was so excited to finally have the opportunity to read I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN. Noah narrates a

It took me awhile to really get into I'll Give You the Sun. Once I was about halfway through the book, the story seemed to draw me in. I flew through the second half, and I was pleased with the ending. Nelson has an incredibly creative mind and style of writing. It was unique and at times hard to follow, but I enjoyed it.

This book was everything "we were liars" wanted to be. It had so much more depth, heart and soul. And yes, lies. Why do I compare the two? Well, they are both YA, it starts out with similar figurative writing which reminded of We were liars. We were liars was Amazon's top YA pick of last year. And this book for me blew we were liars out of the universe. I loved Noah and his wonderful artistic descriptions of his thoughts and feelings. I also loved Jude's perspective and the supernatural spin on ...more

I started reading this book way back in March as part of the TBR Pile Reading Challenge at Bookish. That challenge features a read-along every other month with two sets of discussion questions - one on the 15th and one of the last day of the month. I got my first set of discussion questions in and posted them here. I set the book aside to read some books and never got back to it. I have a copy from the library so last week when I saw I was running out of renewals, I decided I wanted to finish it ...more
