There were plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. There are clear good guys and bad guys - like many other fantasy worlds, there is a fictional world hidden just beyond what most of us see and experience each day. The peculiar children were interesting to meet, and their backstories kept us interested.
