I knew how it would end after she woke up alone. I thought this was going to have a shocking ending, something completely unexpected. The reviews were glowing.

The book was predictable from beginning to end. There wasn't a shadow of doubt in my mind what would happen, which I would share but I've always promised spoiler-free reviews. How it happened was disappointing. Lockhart made a lazy plot decision. Too easy, to trite, too boring.

The writing is superb! The first 20 pages so engrossing, I felt like I was reading a book that would become a classic...There was a point, however, I was able to predict the twist and that made the actual twist when it came feel disappointing. It is a book I need to read again to make sure I "got" the twist correctly and fully. I do think it's worth a read (and a reread). ...more

It's a tedious read but if you give it a chance it is worth it. However it is terribly emotional so if you are the type that needs them, keep those tissues close because this one will keep the tears flowing! ...more

I read this book because I remember seeing someone comment that it had the most amazing twist at the end. And it did even though I was looking for it, I didn't see it coming. However be warned for me it was a tear jerker. Glad I read it though. Because we totally need to talk about those things. Especially when you get to the end of the book and it totally rewrites itself in your head. ...more

Just Meh for Me

I wish the characters had been better developed. I don't feel like I got to know any of them very well, and therefore felt little empathy for anyone except Gat, who was the honest one of the group.
