This book isn't something I would normally pick up; science fiction and zombies isn't my usual cup of tea. But, when my book group Tea and Tales picked this for our March 2016 read it went on my TBR.

Wow! This book...I just...wow! I am not going to say a single thing, because everything is a spoiler. Go into this story blind, honestly. You will be grateful you did. It is all so unexpected and shocking and heart-breaking. My brain feels like it has been overloaded. Melanie is probably one of my favorite characters ever, so clever and self-aware and logical. This post-apocalyptic thriller was written for adults, but mature teen readers will find it an excit ...more

This was such a fascinating and interesting spin on a well-worn genre. There were parts in the middle that lagged for me a little bit, and also parts where I wanted to shake the characters for being so stupid at times. Plus, I sensed where the ending was going about halfway through and have mixed feelings about it. A great and engrossing read.

What a fantastic book! I am very picky about the Sci-Fi books I choose to read, as this isn't the typical genre that I gravitate to. That being said, this was excellent and I throughly enjoyed it. It was such an imaginative, terrifying and intriguing book that I could not put down. This isn't your typical zombie story. I didn't see the ending coming but it was absolutely perfect in it's own strange and unique way! ...more
