This book is brutally honest through some really dark and heavy topics. There is a lot of trauma and abusive, alongside mental health and addiction. Content-wise, it’s not super enjoyable. Because it’s harrowing and no one should have to go through all this, But story-telling wise, it has an amazing voice and very dry delivery that really captures the innocence and naivety of Jenette at various stages of her life. Shelves: faves, memoir
This book was a good insight into how Hollywood works especially for child stars. Jennette's life was troubled and hard and her mother didn't make things easy for her. I loved how she wrote about that relationship and how she handled the heavy topics in this book. I've never dealt with an ED or even alcohol addiction but I empathized with her as I read her struggles with both and I'm glad that she did make progress and seems to be in a much better place than what she was. ...more
