《My name is Percy Jackson.
I'm twelve years old. Until a few months ago, I was a boarding student at Yancy Academy, a private school for troubled kids in upstate New York.
Am I a troubled kid?
Yeah. You could say that.》
Ok, tell me WHY I waited so long to read this series.
I mean, this is SO my style. Witty comments, an action-packed story, Olympus gods and whatever ♥
In my defence I should say that I got deceived by other people's comments like "this is a mess/it's a retarded version of Harry Potte ...more

I think I must have been slightly stupid as a child. I've read this before, decided it wasn't that great, and never carried on with the series. I've been wasting my life!
The beginning was one of my favourites of any book. I love it when characters talk to the readers, and Percy did that. And he gave that sort of mysteriousness, where you're not quite sure if it really is fiction. Or at least, you don't want to say it is.

This book is exactly what comes to mind when I think of middle grade bordering on yung adult books. Not only was it extremely well written, but the character and plot development, pacing, and humur really made this book what it is. The incorporation of Greek mythology into today's society also makes this book really unique because it uses the myths and our society to create a new version of our world. Percy Jackson, finds out he is a half-blood, half mortal and half God; defined as a hero in mythology. As he learns of his special powers and his Godly connections, he also finds he is the only one who can go on a particular quest to save the world from war. This sets up a good tale for more chapters. Well written series for middle-school readers.
Why did I take so long to read such a great story? MUST READ THE SEQUEL!!! *looking for it in my Kobo*
