What Members Thought
An extremely well-written account of serial murders of members of the Osage tribe in Oklahoma during the 1920s. Yet another testament to the sheer lack of the American educational system in terms of history of their own peoples as I had no idea about any of this information. This account is both intriguing and appalling. So much corruption and unfair treatment of human beings. Unfortunately a true exploration of the greed this nation was built upon and the ugly ways in which Native Americans hav

At least 24 people were murdered for their rights and royalties to oil under their land in Oklahoma. Others were murdered just to cover up. While two people were convicted, others went free or were never caught.
This book is an easy, must read. I wouldn't be surprised if history repeated itself. ...more

well I am obviously a one off but i found this book ponderous and stilted. I felt it was filled out with pictures that really added nothing. Most other reviews are more than complimentary but i just didn't feel it. The author is addicted to speech marks where i felt she could just have used prose to report the same events.
