This was a wonderful idea of a book with an execution I didn't enjoy. The book isn't just wordy, it's lengthy. And it's good at bringing you into the worlds of scythes. 5 stars, more if I could rate it higher. I loved this so much, for me, it lived up to all the hype I’ve heard surrounding it! I can’t believe I waited so long to read this. I loved the characters, I loved the world development, I loved how much it made me think, how it showed so many viewpoints. The characters were faced with so many hard choices and difficult situations, there were so many twists and turns along the way too! Why did I wait so long to read this book. It was amazing. I loved the characters Scythe Faraday and Scythe Curie were such great mentors with so much compassion for those who they had to glean. It was a struggle each time they has to glean someone (gleaning is a term for ending someone's life) The scythes have tests that have to go through as apprentices before they can be ordained in the Scythdom.
