Don't mind me I'm just going to sit here and pretend that I don't have to wait eight months for the next installment to one of the best series ever....

I have so many feelings right now. I'm happy to see how this concluded and some of the happy endings we got and also sad that it's over and missing the characters that didn't make it. I'm glad I read this as a buddy read so I could discuss and only read a few chapters a day so I had time to digest everything.

The first two books in this series were only 3 star reads for me but the third one was much better and I rated it 4 stars. I was expecting the same level of enjoyment for this, the last one but it fell short. I was looking forward to a dynamic conclusion to the series, but I found a so-so group of heroes in this book. For a girl who is supposed to be her people’s savior, it took Laia an awfully long time to get anything done. She kept getting powers but not being able to use them or getting in situations where someone else has to get her out. Yet everyone is saying Wow, she’s great. Then there’s Elias, who seems to have lost himself in this conflicted Soul Catcher and conveniently forgets his colleag
