This was a fast-paced, fun and exciting book! I've heard a bit about this series and it didn't disappoint.
Avery is a normal teenager (well, she's living out of her car, but fairly normal) and out of the blue she becomes one of the wealthiest teenagers in the world. Tobias Hawthorne left her billions of dollars in his will... where's the catch? She's never met or heard of the man. Ever. Bit strange?
And the rest of the family are not impressed at being left out of the inheritance (fair enough tbh) ...more

I went in blind and I got the best surprise ever! Sure, the plot may be not the most original out there, I think I have watched a movie or two with a lot of similarities, for example (but I am not complaining or saying that it was boring, not at all!), but I really enjoyed the characters and the story. It was compelling, and it was captivating, and I had a really hard time putting it down.

3 stars. Fun read. I liked the writing and the plot a lot. A lot of twists and turns and crazy reveals. I’m only giving it three instead of four stars because of the fact that I didn’t really care or connect with any of the characters. The main character, Avery, was very generic and there wasn’t anything that made her stand out to me. The side characters weren’t any better which was shame since there is a pretty big cast of characters in this. I did like how this ended though so I’ll read the se

I 100% bought this book because I loved the cover. I had no idea what it was about. I’m not a huge mystery fan, but I was completely taken in by page three. I couldn’t put it down! I was solving the mystery and puzzles right along with Avery and the Hawthorne brothers.
This. This is the book experience I want every time I pick up a new one and start reading. This book is magic, and I can’t wait to start the next one.
