Despite its popularity, this is my least favourite Agatha Christie mystery.

Well that was fun! This was surprisingly my first Christie book, but now I’m hungry for more. I can definitely see myself starting the series from the beginning and reading 1 a month.

Hercule Poirot in on the Orient Express when he is approached by a gentleman named Ratchett asking for his protection as he believes his life is in danger. The next morning, Ratchett is found dead in his cabin and Poirot is roped into figuring out who did it.

As my first Poirot novel, I found him to be an interesting character. He is intelligent and straight to the point. His ability to make deductions from what people told him baffled me. I have no idea how he figured out any of what he did. He

Agatha Christie was known as the ‘Queen of Mystery’ for a reason. Her writing is so incredibly atmospheric and the suspense is well done. I loved following along as Hercule pieced things together and finally identify the killer (who I didn’t guess by the way. That’s always great). The pacing is great and ste ...more

First Agatha Christie novel and it didn't disappoint. I enjoyed Hercule and seeing how the pieces fit together. I didn't expect the ending. Interesting read. I will have to check out more of the series and maybe start from the beginning. ...more

I feel as though this would have been a favorite Agatha Christie of mine if it weren't for the fact that I already knew what was going to happen. Give me 5 years or so to forget the plot and I'll reread this and probably enjoy it a lot more. ...more
