Damn, this is a well written book.

Among the best example ive read of a romance that focus on personal character development.

Definitely not an enemies to lovers, maybe rivals? But they have flirty banter from the first time they meet. Not enemies.

But Definitely fun banter.

The relationship between Nora and her sister! Nora's character development!

Book Lovers Review on K-Books

Book Lovers was the first book by Emily Henry that I have read. Emily Henry has been on my radar for a while, after seeing her all over TikTok and Instagram, and while I own all three of her books, I just had never dived into them. Until Book Lovers was selected as the group pick for my local Romance book club. So, I dived into Book Lovers Review on K-Books

Book Lovers was the first book by Emily Henry that I have read. Emily Henry has been on my radar for a while, after seeing her all over TikTok and Instagram, and while I own all three of her books, I just had never dived into them. Until Book Lovers was selected as the group pick for my local Romance book club. So, I dived into this one totally blind and unsure what it was about other than the characters work in bookish related jobs. I have to say, I am so glad that this one was selected as I really enjoyed it.

I found Book Lovers a totally refreshing take in the romance genre. It takes well known and often overdone tropes and completely flips them on their head. For me, it made it a little bit less predictable. I was completely in love with Emily’s writing right from the start when the main character described herself as ‘the one who usually gets dumped for the one’. I really loved that the main character was unapologetic about who she was. I actually really associated with her.

Nora is such a fantastic character. At first she comes off as a standoffish career woman, but as you get to know her more you see that she is that way because she craves the independent and stability of being able to provide for herself and her sister, without needing anyone else. I really feel like most readers can identify with her on this, and I ended up seeing so much of myself in her. I absolutely loved her. What I really loved was Charlie, and how he is equally standoffish and career driven, and he doesn’t try to change who Nora is but accepts her exactly how she is! I just loved their dynamic and their banter. It constantly had me laughing.

You can really tell from this book that Emily Henry is not just a writer… she is a true booklover at heart. And this came through in every word. I loved that the main characters loved books so much, as it gives any booklover something to identify with the characters about. I really loved this book. It was so cute, and hilarious and even poked fun (good naturedly) about some hilarious BigFoot Erotica. Honestly, I cannot recommend this book enough. Yes, it’s not the best romance I’ve ever read, but I enjoyed every moment, and I will definitely be looking forward to reading her other work in the future.
