On a reread I’ve upgraded this from 4 to 5 stars. Having now read the whole series and found it brilliant in both conception and execution, I see how meticulously planned the series was by Meyer right from the beginning, finding the clues in this book that lead to the rest of the story. Very clever indeed.

It took me way too long to go back and restart the Lunar Chronicles since I never finished Cress and got to Winter (I know shame on me but blame it on my ability to get easily distracted by another book) but I have to say it was even better this time around.
I really missed this futuristic world that Meyer built with such care and detail that every aspect from the hover crafts to the port screens just seem completely normal aspect of life and not something that actually doesn't ...more

I actually got this in audio format and listened to it on 10 hours of CD. I absolutely loved it! I was surprised that I got so into the characters! I had no idea what to expect but I'm so glad that I "read" this!

My actual rating is probably a 3.5/5, but I always round up. This was a book that kept popping up and I kept ignoring it. I honestly did not think I would enjoy it very much, but everyone was talking about how good it was so when I came across it at the library I decided to take the chance. They hype for this series is seriously unbelievable! Honestly, I need to know the secrets to getting the word out and getting so many people to fall into this book. I was honestly nervous about reading this one, I mean I love a good re-telling, especially of a fairy tale! However, my limited knowledge of cyborgs (minus Cyborg from the original Teen Titans, not this new shit stuff, don’t even get me started on that!) made me a bit nervous, after all I did see iRobot and was less than impressed. I tried, but I DNF. Hell I couldn't even get to page 20. It's not the book, in all honestly it's me. I have never been a fairy tale type of person especially when it comes to the girly ones like Cinderella. I especially loathe the story of Cinderella. IT pisses me off and makes my blood boil. It wasnt what I was expecting. But I did enjoy the story. Some things seemed almost.predictable. But regardless, it was a great book. Very well written.
