I really enjoyed this book, more than I thought I was going to actually. This book has been on my to read shelf for forever so it really is about time I read it and I am so very glad that I did. Kai and Cinder were my favourite (I know.. original..).
However I just couldn't help but fall in love with both of them and I can't wait to carry on the story to see where it brings us to. I hope they can somehow get out of the mess they've found themselves in. I am so excited to carry on with the series ...more

I found this book to be exciting, fun and an easy read; which sucked me in from the very first page. I am curious how it fits in with the rest of the series which I also own as I bought them a while ago but I hope I get round to reading the rest soon. It was an original and well written read which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and I look forward to continuing the rest of the series.

I've always really loved reading (and watching) retellings of classic fairy tales, and this book was no different. This book was really enjoyable and fast paced, and I loved the twists on the original. Really great for a quick read c:
This book actually reminded me a lot of Ever After; meeting the prince before the ball, independent Cinderella who isn't going to take s*** from anyone, one kind-hearted step-sister, even the brief reminiscence of how Cinder came to be with her family was mor ...more

Cinder is an incredibly unique sci-fi retelling and I loved every minute of it.
The characters are my favorite part of this book (as well as the rest of the series). The author has created such interesting characters that are unlike anything I’ve seen before. Cinder is a cyborg, rescued after a hover accident as a child and adopted by a family from New Beijing. The fact that Cinder is a cyborg is something that sets her apart from the rest of her family and society in general. In this world, cyb ...more

I really enjoy reading a retell of Cinderella story. A cyborg! The world building was pretty good. I wanted to learn more about the world they're in, but I feel that I did get enough of description.
Cinder is a cool character. She wasn't a stereotypical character either. She's a mechanic and a cyborg, the best mechanic as well.
Kai is an interesting character but I don't get enough depth background of him, but there were enough as a secondary character of the book.

Loved it! This book is a nice twist on the original Cinderella story. It has elements of the classic poor girl, with "glass slipper" and the prince fall in love, but that is only an iota of the main story line. The Sci-Fi story aspect is intriguing and by the end of the book I instantly bought the remaining books in the series because I wanted to read them immediately. It is a light read (pretty quick to get through), but something fun.

This book has taken me ages to read. I read the first half pretty quickly and got sort of bored.
The story line to too obvious and I was a little peeved with that to begin with.
I can't say how its obvious because some people may not see what/how it is and I don't want to ruin it for other people. Just safe to say I was confused with why we had to wait for the big 'oh my god no way moment' which wasn't in the least shocking.
Still deciding on whether I liked this or not. One part of me thinks I en ...more
