What Members Thought

If you are worried about reading this book because it is Science Fiction and Cinder is a cyborg, Worry Not!!
I was also pretty worried about if i was going to like it and I actually LOVED it!!! The characters are very unique and enjoyable to read about!

I enjoyed this book a lot! This book was a twist on Cinderella, however there was a big difference between Cinder and Cinderella. I enjoyed Marissa Meyer's writing style. I liked the technology references as well.

I just didn't care too much for this book.
It was brilliant, don't get me wrong, absolutely genius the way the classic fairytale of Cinderella was warped into this story. However, I just couldn't connect to the characters. The only one I cared about was Iko. And if you've read the book, you know how well that works out.

I found this book to be exciting, fun and an easy read; which sucked me in from the very first page. I am curious how it fits in with the rest of the series which I also own as I bought them a while ago but I hope I get round to reading the rest soon. It was an original and well written read which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and I look forward to continuing the rest of the series.

Queen Lavana I hate your guts to pieces! However I am glad I gave this book a third chance because I actually understood it this time and loved the cyborg aspect of it! I have never read a cyborg book until this one and it was absolutely amazing. The story was super easy to follow and had a wonderful plot to it. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book!

I've always really loved reading (and watching) retellings of classic fairy tales, and this book was no different. This book was really enjoyable and fast paced, and I loved the twists on the original. Really great for a quick read c:
This book actually reminded me a lot of Ever After; meeting the prince before the ball, independent Cinderella who isn't going to take s*** from anyone, one kind-hearted step-sister, even the brief reminiscence of how Cinder came to be with her family was mor ...more

1 of 5.
Predictable. This is basically the word that sums up what this book was for me. Immediately after the first ten pages you can understand the whole plot and everything that will happen. And then just gets boring and repetitive.
And worse than that, the author continues trying to brainwash readers that history is full of mystery and no one has discovered the secrets. (Hello! We already got who is Cinder in the first chapter... cut the chase!!!!) She stretches stretches stretches the story, ...more

I really enjoy reading a retell of Cinderella story. A cyborg! The world building was pretty good. I wanted to learn more about the world they're in, but I feel that I did get enough of description.
Cinder is a cool character. She wasn't a stereotypical character either. She's a mechanic and a cyborg, the best mechanic as well.
Kai is an interesting character but I don't get enough depth background of him, but there were enough as a secondary character of the book.
The more I think about how I f ...more

Can't believe I waited so long to read this! Super easy, super fast, super entertaining read! Can't wait for book two. I loved the sci-fi aspect of this book and I really enjoyed the main character and her spunky sidekick, Iko. Purchased a copy to sit on my shelf!!
