Shelves: favorites, fav-covers, favs-of-2021

I loved this as much as I hoped! After waiting for this for a couple of years I'm glad it's finally out and I finally read it! This is my first official Jay Kristoff book (aside from the Illuminae series but for some reason I feel like that doesn't count). I love vampires and I will forever be grateful that there are still vampire stories coming out fresher than ever. I really want the sequel to this, I really need to know what's going to happen next.

This is basically The Witcher if Geralt mainly fought vampires, with a little bit of The Da Vinci Code thrown in and some drug use. Not kidding: trained by a sect to fight monsters (basic pain and may-not-survive-this techniques), eyes change colour to fight, has a ward to protect, everyone hates him, not in sequential order, and a bunch of other stuff that will give you too many spoilers.
