While this book wasn't perfect, it was everything I needed out of an Emily Henry book. She does such great work focusing on the people in the background also that it makes her books more well rounded. Like so many of her novels, this one is a romance but it also deals with the impact you have on the people around you. I like that making connections is the focus. I'm in the minority here, but I honestly didn't love this book. The story felt very predictable and there were parts I was just hoping I was at the end already, because I didn't feel the story was progressing. The big incident that happened two years ago that almost ended their 10 year, at the time, friendship was not really that big of a deal. Most of their issues would easily be resolved with some honesty and communication which they are best-friends so that should have been a given. After 12 ...more

Alex and Poppy meet Freshman year at U of Chicago and find they are from neighboring towns in Ohio. They share a car ride home at the end of the year, realize they are opposites, but over the summer find they are friends. This results in a decision to spend a summer week together each year in a new location.
