description

After listening to an audiobook, do you ever feel like you need to re-read the book in another format to fully immerse yourself into the story? Because that's how I feel right now. Like I missed the potential for discovering a new favorite book. I thought for sure I would be into it from the very beginning but I kept listening (and wasn't even really distracted) but it never managed to hook me like I wanted it to. So yeah, I need a do-over with this book because I want to love it and I hate that

Lore made for a really thrilling read jam packed with a play on old world mythology and history. The book turned out a lot more complex and even dark/brutal than I was expecting. Lore the MC was a very interesting and likable character. After brutally losing her parents and sisters Lore is on the run for many years of her life. She wants nothing to do with the Gods and the Agon but unfortunately they are not done with her and Lore is unfortunately dragged back in. I do think the story was a bit ...more

I am never disappointed by anything she writes I loved everything about this book there was never a dull moment I was on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I really loved all of the characters but I loved Lore and Castor most of all they fit so well together the kind of pairing you really root for. I really loved Lore for her love and determination to save those that were so dear to her I really liked how her and Castor reconnected a great friends to lovers romance. I really loved the ...more

"Monsters lived in the shadows. To hunt them, you couldn’t be afraid to follow. And the only way to destroy them was to have the sharper teeth and the darker heart."

I knew as soon as I saw the cover of this book with the Gorgon and the title of "Lore," I had to have it. I studied Greek and Roman Mythology in college, so anything about mythology, I love to read. I have read most of the classics, so I understood the different names, Gods, and houses discussed in the novel.

Lore is a story revolvin

I am honestly on the fence with this one. I want to like it but at the same time I want to dislike it. On the one hand I love me some Greek mythology and a good interpretation, but I am not sure if I would say this was good. It has potential, lots of potential but it feels like it falls flat in various areas. There is barely any of mythology in it other than the use of names and vague references to mythological tales.

I could have done without the rapey parts especially when it was child rape. L

Narrator was Fryda Wolff and she did a good job. I did not connect with the story or the characters.

Unrushed, but a bit confusing at times. Pretty awesome!
