3 1/2 stars.

The Whisper Man was a comfortable and easy read with a bit of creep factor and a little bit of a Silence of the Lambs vibe. I enjoyed the writing style in this book and found the plot to be interesting, but it just didn't have a wow factor for me. I don't know how to explain that. Wow .. amazing. This was my first read from author Alex North and it didn’t disappoint. This book is definitely what creepy urban legends are made of. I may have finished reading this book but the poem will stay with me for some time.

If you’re lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you.

I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. I thought it was more of a mystery/serial killer type book. It spent way too much time on the dynamic between the main characters - father and son. And not enough time on the crime story. Bottom line, in my opinion it didn't live up to the hype. ...more
