This was so worth the wait! I'm loving this series and Famine's story was great. He's so different from his brothers, less human and crueler, although he has seen the worst side of humanity. Famine and Ana also have a different relationship than the others, they met early on when she saved him and then meet up again when he comes to her new town. Ana has also been through some awful things and thinks that maybe humanity shouldn't be saved.

Ana is funny, she teases Famine all the time and tries n

This might be my favorite out of the three books from that series. However, I forgot a few things about book 1 and 2 and decided not to do a re-read before diving into Famine just because I didn't want to wait! I was hyped for this one and I'm so glad I read it. I loved it so much.

The killing in this book was horrible. Famine clearly doesn't love humans and we quickly learn that he had been captured and tortured in ways we can't even imagine for years before our heroine found him when she was s

“You are a human-shaped headache.”

Famine, the 3rd horseman of the Apocalypse has come to kill all of humanity. Ana, who is currently working as a prostitute just to survive this dystopia the world has become is waiting for him to arrive and see if he remembers her from the time they met before and she was spared. Instead he has her stabbed and left for dead. When Ana wakes to find herself horribly injured, she vows vengeance and once healed goes after Famine. He takes her captive after her very

you know the drill. One of the Four Hourseman rides, mets a plucky heroine, falls in love, stops killing everyone...... Formulaic does not equal boring. This one is definitely a slow burn. I like that this heroine is not a sweet but brave young thing. She is jaded, she has done what she needed to do to survive in this world and that's just how it is. Famine has been the worst of the Horsemen so far. He is so over humanity. Overall this was a super entertaining read and I'm off to read Death. (al ...more

I enjoyed this book. It was definitely different from the previous two books which I really appreciated because a lot of times in series like this it's easy for the author to essentially write the same book with different characters. Thankfully, that has not happened yet which makes me very happy. There were two things about this book that bothered me however and they are both spoilers so I'm hiding them. (view spoiler) ...more

Ana and Famine

It's been a while since I read the prior two books in the series, but the details aren't needed to read this one.

This one opens to Famine being in the town where Ana lives. Ana's employer thought it would be a good idea if she offers Ana to Famine as a gift. Ana is secretly hoping that Famine will remember their previous encounter and makes a different decision than his status quo.

Neither gets what they want.

This book was dark. This should not be a surprise considering what the
