I’ve loved some of her other books recently so thought I’d revisit this one and see how I felt about it in audio. Honestly, still leaving this as a three star rating.
I love the idea of the long pine and friendship that delves into something more, but I didn’t feel the chemistry between these two. And Everett is a bit of a jerk. This is a fairly new to me author. First read Book Lovers earlier this year and I enjoyed that. While I liked this I think I enjoyed her other book more. This was sweet had a small amount of spice in it but just didn't hit the same for me. I don't love comparing books but I'm more comparing my feelings of reading that than reading this one.
I love a good sex scene and some scenes in this were good it just wasn't enough so knocked a few stars off for that.

While I liked this story I don't know if I liked it enough to give it anything above three stars and that is mainly because this book was not what I expected and that it's a bad thing per say. I expected something light and fluffy and while it did have light and fluffy moments it also had a lot more dark and angsty moments than I expected and that sometimes made it hard to get through when all I wanted was a simple rom-com book.

Finally a lot of depth here and so many bad things happened along with the good things but I am glad it ended on a good note.
Ohh I liked this! A lot! I always like mysterious characters like Gus. I would have loved to learn more about him but this was great.
