3 stars. I think even if this book hadn’t been hyped to the high heavens, it still would get three stars from. The hype just made it that much more underwhelming because it felt like a book I’d read a hundred times over. Plus, I'm sick of the cartoon covers not matching the book content. I'm over it and this was another prime example of that.

I was a little intimidated by this book beacause almost everyone loves it. I end up loving Beach Read as well.
I knew this isn't really fluffy read based on reviews I read but I wasn't sure to what extend. And to be honest I love this book beacause it wasn't a fluffy read. It deals with grief and betrayal. I didn't expect to enjoy this book so much! Obviously, I was expecting to like it, but I was totally hooked up from the first chapter. January has an interesting and fresh voice, and I really liked her. And her friend, Shadi, sounds like an amazing person too! And I loved her from the start.
The only thing that disappointed me a bit here is that we have some really amazing secondary characters, with their own distinct personality and eccentricities but... but we don't get enough of them! I would ...more

I complain that Emily Henry's books are repetitive, but I keep coming back for more. I can't stop...I won't stop! I love a cheesy rom com!
Cute story, easy read, and I love Julia Wheelan's narrating. A solid 3.5***.

This book had been on my TBR list for a while now. It was kind of slow for me. This book had a ton of hype so I couldn’t wait to read it, but it just kind of fell short. January and Gus both annoyed me in various ways. I just wished they would communicate more. Things were so easily misconstrued and could easily have been cleared up. I will admit, I laughed and cried. Overall I am happy I read this book, but it’s certainly not one of my favorites.
