Oh My! What a fantastic read! I really did not expect Beach Read to be so deep and heartfelt taking on many issues such as cheating, divorce, heartbreak, father/daughter relationships and a host of many other topics. I picked up this book thinking it would be a fluffy and light rom-com and in some ways it was. Believe me, I laughed many many times. This story is just everything!

This book makes me think of a mixture of words that normally wouldn't go together-- snarky, bitter, embarrassing, misunderstandings, thoughtful, poignant, steamy, literary, and cute. Surprisingly, it works! I easily binged it in one day because I NEEDED more.

I overall enjoyed this book! It's odd, because based on this title and cover I would expect this book to be a super light-hearted rom-com. It was a rom-com, but it really wasn't light hearted. It dealt with a lot of heavy topics and overall wasn't super happy, though it did have a happy for now ending to it. I really don't feel like the cover matches the book though.

Wow this book was exactly what I needed right now. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at them to get their crap together and just COMMUNICATE ALREADY! And I loved the whole freaking thing. Not only is it romantic and funny, but it deals with grief in such a real and raw way. I’m dealing with loss now, as I’ve read this book, and it truly was saying what I needed to hear. I didn’t expect that, and I’m grateful for it.
