Oh My! What a fantastic read! I really did not expect Beach Read to be so deep and heartfelt taking on many issues such as cheating, divorce, heartbreak, father/daughter relationships and a host of many other topics. I picked up this book thinking it would be a fluffy and light rom-com and in some ways it was. Believe me, I laughed many many times. This story is just everything!

I overall enjoyed this book! It's odd, because based on this title and cover I would expect this book to be a super light-hearted rom-com. It was a rom-com, but it really wasn't light hearted. It dealt with a lot of heavy topics and overall wasn't super happy, though it did have a happy for now ending to it. I really don't feel like the cover matches the book though.

I am not a regular reader of women's fiction (or chick lit or contemporary romance...whatever you want to label it as), but I had been overwhelmed by the hype surrounding this book, so I had to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know what it was about this in particular, but I LOVE Emily Henry's writing style. It's smart and quippy and her characters are...tangible. I don't know about this book. Sometimes when I read a book, I get all caught up in the world and everything and I finish it and I'm like That was SO GOOD. And then I give it a few days and once I get some space from the thing, it's like Oh No. That book was fun to read but just okay.
