"Now I think I could believe in anything from flying saucers to killer clowns. Because there really is a second world. It exists because people refuse to believe it's there."
I take these breaks in between binge-reading Stephen King and I don't know why I do. I think sometimes I'm worried I won't love his stories and writing so much. And I'm always wrong.
I love his stories. He can take me anywhere, sell me any line and I'm completely in. These 4 short stories are no exception. I must admit, I wa ...more

The Warm-Up Act - Mr. Harrigan's Phone
This was an enjoyable little story combining King's talent at writing coming of age stories with the creepy supernatural elements he is so famous for. With so many of King's most famous work set in the 80s or earlier it was certainly refreshing and interesting to have a story based around modern technology, specifically an iPhone.
This story was spooky and fun and a strong warm up act.

Loved this collection of 4 short stories / novellas.
Mr. Harrigan's Phone
The Life of Chuck
If It Bleeds
The Rat
If It Bleeds was my favorite - because ... Holly Gibney is back! And I was surprised that this wasn't the last story, I swear King couldn't have topped it ... and then I read The Rat - and ... look, King is a freaking master, so I should have had no doubts. That story is also phenomenal.
I listened to the audiobook - and it has to win some kind of award because the narrators were just pheno ...more

Another awesome book by Stephen King. I loved all the stories. There were 4 short stories. My favorite was If It Bleeds with Holly Gibney from the Mr Mercedes series.
It was totally worth the wait. I had a hold on it from my local library. If you read or even seen the Mr Mercedes series, this is a must read.
