Maas, decent as expected but I do not think this book needed to be this LONGGGGG. Some filler as expected and clues that led to absolutely nowhere. Those first chapters hurt the soul. Felt like I knew those characters from the start and they had dimension. High dark fantasy, thought the world building was complex but done very well.

Wow, Sarah has done it again. She has successfully created a world and book that gave me a terrible book hangover! This book was amazing. Her ability to create a world you can so clearly visualize and give such detail and importance to even the smallest of characters has me in awe. The amount of time she spends building up the world and plot has you feeling like you are there and know these characters. First 100 pages: Absolutely pointless, get rid of them entirely.
100-600: Readable, but this would have been easily chopped down to 200 pages, maybe.
600-800: I think this is what everyone concludes this to be worth reading for, but it really wasn't. It was gripping, and had me on the edge of my toes several times, but reading nearly 600 pages to get to the actually good part was in no way worth it to me.
