First 100 pages: Absolutely pointless, get rid of them entirely.
100-600: Readable, but this would have been easily chopped down to 200 pages, maybe.
600-800: I think this is what everyone concludes this to be worth reading for, but it really wasn't. It was gripping, and had me on the edge of my toes several times, but reading nearly 600 pages to get to the actually good part was in no way worth it to me.
