Seriously girl!!! OK I will say the love she has for her dad is sweet and probably one of the only parts of the book that seemed genuine. I would have much rather read about Cath and Wrens struggle after her mom left and the mental impact that had on her, her sister, and her dad!
So in the beginning Cath came off as a whinny brat who treated her sister like a security blanket. Other than that the first part of the novel wasn't all that bad but it wasn't entertaining at all. Its when Cath begins t ...more

I adored this book.
Adored.
Cath was such a brilliant character and you can really see her development throughout this book, she really endorsed the fangirl culture that we all know and love and I love how Rainbow Rowell didn't make it creepy or awkward, she caught how much a film or a book or a TV show can mean to person.
At first I didn't love Levi, but then I did. So much. So so much. And I'm really glad it worked out between Cath and Levi and I'm glad Wren was happy in the end and how Cath jus ...more

I'd previously read (and loved) Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, but I was still rather iffy as to whether or not I'd read it. It just didn't seem to really catch me at all. But I decided to give it a shot for the 2018 Popsugar Reading Challenge (for the twin prompt) and I am so glad I did.
The book was absolutely incredible from start to finish; realistic and beautiful in all manner of ways and really relatable regardless of whether or not you're a "fangirl" and/or introvert.

Shout out to Cath and her love for fandoms. Seriously. The excerpts from the Simon books and Cath's own fanfiction was one of my favorite aspects of the book, which is why I immediately went to my local library and checked out Carry On.
As much as I loved Cath's involvement with fanfiction and fangirling, the book itself was okay. The characters – Cath, Wren, Reagan, and Levi – were all well-written and dynamic. I just wish there was more to the plot than there was, especially since I felt like t ...more

I found this book to be very real. The situations were almost depressing to read the main character go through. The inclusion of fanfiction was a neat idea and I enjoyed the fact that this genre of "geek girl" was written about in a way that didn't make those who write or read fanfiction seem odd or other. As much as I did like the book as a whole, this just isn't a book that I'm likely to have on my "to read again" list.

This is the third book I read by Miss Rowell and I completely enjoyed it. It's romantic scenes are a little gaudy and phony.
Levy says I like you a lot; a lot.
And the description of is jaw and hair take a lot of the scene.
But it's a good book. ...more
