Whoo! Another book I originally didn't finish and now have completed. The key for this one was listening to the audiobook. It had a male and female narrator depending on who's point of view it is in the story. It also kept moving through the slow parts, the cause of my dnf the first time.

No. It started well and had an interesting post apocalyptic take but the romance completely ruined it for me.

Absolutely drew me in right away! I wasn't sure about this book because of the aliens, but it was nothing like what I expected!

Humans are being killed in waves, and thus the 5th "wave" is upon them.

The character development was excellent! I couldn't believe what some of the young people went through! Oh my gosh!

I also thought the world building was superb. I was a total believer! I can't wait for the next wave!

Recommendation: A must read! ...more

I saw the movie a couple of times, but didn't remember much of it. I've never read the book before, but it was a bit dissapointing to me.
There were bits in the story that really dragged along and that could've been shorter, like the revelation about Evan, the relationship between Evan and Cassie. that sort of things.
The idea of aliens coming and hitting in 5 waves is really interesting and has a lot of point of views where you can do much with it, but the romance and Cassie being a bit to much o ...more

Oh WOW! I can't believe it's taken me so long to read this book. I absolutely devoured this book in a day and I am so excited for what's next. This isn't your normal alien invasion and nothing will go as planned. I loved how the book started with the giant mother ship showing up and people just going about their daily lives because, really, what else were they to do. ICH HABE ES NACH 100 SEITEN ABGEBROCHEN.

Keine Spannung, langweilige Erzählweise und unsympathische Protagonistin. Es wird einfach alles abgezählt ohne Punkt und Komma. Und wenn ich Cassie NOCH EIN MAL über ihren Vater reden höre, raste ich aus!!
