Well, I did it. And quickly, too! I have so many mixed feelings. In fact, Samantha (from Thought on Tomes on YouTube) summed it up perfectly in her review and I couldn't agree with her more: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Here's the thing; Sarah J. Maas is undoubtedly my favourite author (because of Heir of Fire). So I was expecting tolike love this book. Yet I left conflicted and disappointed and intrigued...
The Good:
Sarah J. Maas' writing is amazing, she made me care for characters that I felt no connection to, for the last 30% percent of this book I was a whirlwind of emotions. This was the part that packed lots of plot, and I just wish that the rest of the book was as good as that 30%.

Amazing Beauty and the Beast retelling. I loved the characters and how Sarah J. Maas used the Beauty and the Beast aspect to make this book so much more interesting!
Wow. Just wow. I didn't think this originally was a book for me as I read the books synopsis but boy was I wrong. That I had so low expectations just made it even better in my opinion. I loved the characters so incredibly much and have already started on the second book, while I just ordered the third one and it's on its way.

There are no words to describe my feelings right now. This is my new favorite book of all time! Sarah J. Maas has done it again. I love the Throne of Glass series but this book has it beat. I was captivated from the very beginning. I didn't want to put this book down. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
