It's official I'm done with Sarah J. Maas. This is the third book I've read by her and I haven't liked any of them. While I did enjoy this one much more then Throne of Glass I still didn't think it was good, it was okay at best. It felt a lot longer then it should have. The middle of the book was very drawn out and boring. I liked Feyre but Tamlin was boring, there was nothing to him. He is suppose to be the beast but he super polite the whole time while Feyre was extremely rude, maybe she was t

OK OK 5 BLOODY SHINING STARS
Where do I start? ALL THE FEELS GOING THROUGH ME AAAGGHHH
Important points
-- I ship myself with Rhys because daaaaaaaaamnnn... why ever not?

-- I would not say this book is NOT a YA novel but more to a NEW ADULT because Sarah really upped the maturity of the situations that occur in the book especially with more detailed description of sexual matters. This is not erotica or anything like that.
I'm just warning you if you do get uncomfortable with these kind of things es ...more

I'm not going to lie, Sarah J Maas knows how to write. While this book is a bit too flowery with its descriptions and drags on a little too long with the story. It's very well written. I had hoped to fall in love with the characters (this being a love story) I didn't. I couldn't, it felt like the person who wrote it has never actually being in love and only knows how it's supposed to be like. While I'm aware that this is supposed to be a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, I felt like it also had

When ACOMAF won't be delivered for a week.

I enjoyed this so much more than I ever thought I would. I have had this book for probably about three years and I don't know why it took me this long to pick this up. I just love the romance, I don't care about much else.

Great story! This book is loosely a Beauty and the Beast retelling with fairies. A young girl hunting to aide in her family's survival unknowingly takes down a shape shifted fairy, then must live as a "prisoner" in the Fairys land, Prythian, for the rest of her days as a debt to her crime. Feyre, the main character read a lot like a mix of Katniss Everdeen and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I really liked this retelling and it sets itself up very nicely to become a series. The relationships an

The first 50 pages killed me... didn't think I was going to be able to finish it. The pace picked up once Tamlin entered the story. (even though I actually like Lucien more) I didn't care for the relationship with Tamlin. The last 150 pages saved this book for me. I'm not sure if the hype influenced my expectations of this book, but I was let down.

Reread April 2017 - I enjoyed this book so much more this time around. Honestly though that was 90% due to Rhys and me trying to see a hidden meaning in everything 😜
I am really torn with this book. The first hundred pages really dragged and took me so long to get through. The little twists and turns sucked me in though and kept me reading until the end. My major issue with this book was the grammatical errors and odd sentence structure. I found it so much harder to read ...more

Update 6/25/2015- Actual rating 4.25. Still love it, but time has let reality sink in. Part of this is because as I listen to the audiobook I find myself bored.
Update 5/15/2015 - It's review time
How do I even begin to talk about one of those rare stories that completely sweeps me up, draws me into the world, makes me fall in love with the characters, and then has the audacity to make me crave for more? Yeah, well it turns out that I start by asking a pointed and summarizing question.

IM CHOKING ON MY TEARS. This is now my favorite fantasy book I've ever read and my favorite book so far this year HANDS DOWN. Possibly one of my favorites of all time. I haven't shipped a book couple this hard since Twilight.. I'm a mess I LOVE YOU SARAH J MAAS.

I'm really conflicted over my rating for this book. Some parts I really liked but I can't give a higher rating for moral reasons. It was so refreshing to see sex in a young adult book however I think Sarah took it too far when she described the main character to be constantly drugged, paraded around the throne room naked and giving lap dances. The main character doesn't even question this or fight back, she just acts like it's okay, and I think that its really unhealthy for young girls to be exp

Wow. Um. So, my thoughts on this book are so all over the place. I have it 3 stars.. Maybe 3.5! Because of the one character whom I loved! But other than that this writing was not Maas usual style. It was jagged and rough, hard to follow and boring at some bits. The world was very under developed and I feel like the mystery element that was put into place just made the book slightly dull and confusing.. I have hopes for Maas to grow in her ability to write new adult, but this book was a rough be
